Jan Chargois has over 20 years of experience working with investors in marketing hotel, motel and resort transactions.  He has represented buyers from all over the globe and many sellers from the Pacific Northwest, either through International Motel Brokers, LLC in Oregon or in cooperation with brokers in other states. His formal education includes a mathematics degree from California State University at Long Beach as well as professional coursework on an ongoing basis.

Jan’s former business experience includes owning and operating a commercial construction company in Oregon. His understanding of facility infrastructure, coupled with a sound ability to analyze the profitability of the business side makes him extremely valuable to his clients. His ability to break down complex data into usable information for lenders and investors adds value to negotiations and can make the difference for a successful sale.

James Weist, founder partner, International Motel Brokers, LLC

James Weist has over 30 years of experience in the lodging industry as a licensed real estate broker as well as consultant in Oregon, Washington, California and Colorado. He holds a BS degree from International College, Fort Wayne, Indiana. A former CPA, he has a depth of understanding regarding the financial aspects of business. Jim was founder of International Motel Brokers in 1979.

Jim's former business experience includes owning and operating a tax consulting business. His background with Ernst & Young in Auditing and later Carnation Co. serving on an Export Expansion Council established him as a leader on the subject of International Finance. As Controller at Aero Spacelines, Inc., a subsidiary of Twin Fair, Inc. during a critical liquidation of the business, he earned valuable experience understanding exit strategies and repositioning for his clients.
